*IPP* - Website in progress

I've had a nagging urge to make a website for ages, and now seems to be the right time to start. Michelle Vinall has suggested I use IWeb, Cyberduck and I&I webhosting to do the job, so hopefully this will help me in my bid to publicize my skills. :D

Will be putting all the animations, illustrations, and storyboards I have accumulated in the past on there. Should be good!

Running out of things to say uh oh oh no what do I do...

Bye for now!

Exterior tower pan with chicken bone - progress

Oh man.... this is embarassing to watch >__<

Well, this is for a scene in the Smitten film where the knight throws the bone out of the tower window, as he races to meet his fair maiden. I have trouble doing perspective, so I felt that I should do a little filming of how the scene should look. I did do more acting out for this, but for some reason it didn't record (I felt like a right prat when I realized this haha!) I like the arm action here, nice exaggeration, might make the knight bob a bit more.

Here's what the animation test looks like so far. Looks a little too tough and not waltziish enough, but the keys are there for improvement. Will probs do the cartwheel next

*Countdown Music*

Yeh have been working on my dissertation a lot lately. Will get back to normal work stuff soon, no worries!

*M* Smitten - Birds test 3

Have added the wings and beak, and tweaked a few bits and pieces.

I showed this to Matt Vadis and he seemed happier with it then me! I was worried the wings were flapping too much, and there needed to be more bounce and arcs. But yeh he liked it! He asked me to extend the animation at the beginning and at the end. Pretty happy bout this now! :D

*M* Smitten - Birds test 2

Not overly pleased with this, but I like the end of the clip better then the beginning. I think the bounciness works well. The beginning just... doesn't work really. It's too quick, there's no bounce or flow, they just zoom in without any anticipation.

Will keep at it, I'm starting off with simple circles and carry on like this until I'm happy with the flow, then I'll add other stuff. :P

Eel test animation in Maya

Eel test animation. My animating has a lot of mistakes, but wanted to test the old eel rig to see how easy it is to use. Its pretty good, but needs more controls.

*M* Animation Test

Well, it's a start I suppose.

Had a look at some tests on youtube to help, and did a lot of this straight ahead. Definitely needs neatening up, especially the wings. the belly flattens too much when the weight of the body lowers. Basically EVERYTHING needs work.

I can see this improving a lot though. Just feel as if I need to master the basic fly cycle before going into scene again.

*M* Updates for each project

THE DEEP

I managed to finish all the frames and hand them over to Mel for compositing. Andy examined the render and gave me some more frames to draw, so that we could tie up some loose ends. I reckon there might be more things to change, but that's only natural for a project like this.

Here's a taster of some of the frames I did:

Fixed frames:

SMITTEN

Am starting to animate the birds in shot 1, the very beginning of the animation. I've found it difficult, but with more reference I'll get there! I'll upload tests when they are done

RAVEN PROJECT

Managed to get some wall textures done for the Raven box aka "Raven Haven"

Tried out some different oppacities, contrasts and tectures here. Sophie seems pretty happy with them. I think she said that it would be cool if there were some ravens there as well, so might try and do that soon.
