*M* New frames!

I really like how I did the second frame, but after a second glance, i think the shading is too dark :/

*M* Storyboard Animatic for Gorrilaz Track

Good old Gorillaz. They have inspired me since the beginning of Secondary School. The style and powerful animation techniques they use make me feel very envious of the talent Passion Pictures demonstrates. Would love to work with them some day.

Anyway, here's something I found lately that really impressed me as a wannabe Story artist.

This animatic is really cool. Love the colour use, very simple, but the contrast of green and red works well. The flow is great, you get a really good idea of what is going on

Also, you gotta love the fact that Russel tosses a whale at a helicopter! XD

*M* More shots

*M* Reference for bird animation

My primary concern is the animatic, but here's some videos I shall be using as reference for Smitten next week, once the animatic is finished.

All these were suggested to me by Matt Vadis. I really like the robin videos, because they show the flight of the bird in slow motion.

And who better to hear the basics of flight from our good friend Merlin, from "Sword In The Stone"

*M* Another scene finally done

Now that my Diss draft has been handed in, I don't need to worry bout it too much for now. Has given me time to do more with the animatic.

Have been struggling with this a bit because the two characters are coming towards the "camera". I hate perspective, but this has been a good challenge for me.

*M* Final Cut Woes, And Raven Box Happenings

Well, I had an "epic fail" on Final Cut Pro. I had some gorgeous editing going yesterday, and almost finished a decent chunk until suddenly the program froze and crashed. I was really gutted!

On the bright side, trying to catch up on Raven Project work. Here's some edits of the original pic I did a while ago

The top one seems to be the favourite, maybe a little fainter though.

Sophie gave me some other pointers on how it should look.

She found this fab pic. She really likes the crowns in this, and thinks that would be something cool to use in the wallpaper texture. I agree! Will really make the box look more patriotic!

Also, in case it is of interest, these are pictures of Bran's actor's house! Its really unusually decorated. :D

Dunno whether you can tell, but I started losing steam by the last two shots. The third shot makes me laugh! May have to change that one!

I was working in the library at college on these, I found that I got way more done in there. Libraries  have that atmosphere that makes you feel like doing tonnes of work! Ab fab!

I should also mention that I'm working in Final Cut to bring the the work so far together into a vid. I can make sure everything works smoothly, and play around with the settings a tad.

*M* Animatic frame update

I hate drawing perspective, especially when there's flippers involved >__<

First sequence of frames are a bit naff, just trying something out. Wanted the audience to see boy before he heads for caves. Also wanted a reason for writing to disappear

Its getting there I guess!
